About Me

This section was originally an entire website, but I realized that this whole site is about me, I don't need a separate site about me to let you delve into who I am. I think you get a pretty good idea of who I am based on my writing. To some I'm known as evilnel, others Nel, but mostly I'm known as Gwen. I'm a junior at Valparaiso University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, as well as minors in Japanese and Creative Writing. I'm twenty-one years old. Some useless facts that people like to know... I'm 5'7, I have blue eyes and brown hair. I'm German, Welsh, and Italian. I love Italian food. My favorite color is pink, and my favorite shows are House, Futurama, and the Simpsons. I have three siblings, an older brother, a younger brother, and a younger sister, and two nieces, Kodi and Jazmyn.


This is me.

I'm a Christian, but contrary to popular belief, I am not a right wing jerkface. I consider my political beliefs to be moderate. If you want to know more about them, you should probably ask me because I'd rather not discuss it here. Oh yeah, my Christian denomination is ELCA Lutheran. I'm pretty much against stupid people and in favor doing things that make sense, for instance, advocating vaccinations and perpetrating knowledge based on FACT rather than fiction.

So about what I want to do with me life. I would love to write. I adore writing, but unfortunately, my life isn't conducive to non-academic writing. That's okay, because I love writing papers almost as much as writing fiction. I do forsee myself continuing to write, but my career focus will likely be on cross-cultural psychology. My interests obviously overlap a lot with East Asia (namely Japan) and I love to study the history, culture, and why the people have the unique attributes that they do.

So when I'm not working or going to class, what do I do? Well, I hang out with my friends, I love to read, especially Anne Bishop and Stephen King, and I like to draw or waste time online. I'm a sad Trekkie. Q is my favorite character. This site is kind of my baby. It's gone through a number of permutations and I'm happy with the latest evolution.
