Layout Info

This is the section of the site to find out the inspiration behind my layouts... and also what it took to achieve them. Yeah, I know so many people have been asking me what I do to create such great layouts. So here's how you can find out.

[ Version Ten ]

Name: In This Moment -- March 2007
Featuring: The metal band In This Moment

Explaination: If you haven't noticed, I usually am most inspired by the music I listen to. Music is my passion, and I'm very enthralled with this band right now. I just absolutely adore their music. So, with that said, I felt compelled to feature them on a layout. I also happen to be a promotion-fiend. If you have not heard of In This Moment, you have now. You can learn more about them at the following links: inthismoment.com and centurymedia.com.

*Disclaimer: Note that I do not in any way claim the right to the band photo of In This Moment featured on this layout. Credit goes to the rightful photographer, and the source where I got it from: inthismoment.com. Since this is a personal website of mine, no profit was made for its use.

[ Version Nine ]

Name: Higher Than Hope -- late fall 2004
Featuring: Tarja Turunen from the Finnish metal band Nightwish.

Explaination: Something about singers (especially really good ones) enthralls me. So, featuring Tarja seemed like a good idea because I admire her talent as a singer.

When I was making this layout I was trying to express a certain idea (like usual). I wanted to make a layout with a positive and strong theme. The song, "Higher Than Hope" seemed to express what I was looking for. This layout is about the serenity you feel after you over come something horrible. I think the pharse "Higher Than Hope" connects it well because you have to surpass hope to feel strong again. Ahh, I have weird ideas I know, but whatever.

Credit for the image goes to, Nighwish's official site. This layout wasn't really a challenge for me to make. It was more of something fun for me to do. It, however, took me a long time to put together because I was really picky about the way I wanted it to look. The lyrics behind Tarja come from the song "Higher Than Hope" on their latest album, "Once".

[ Version Eight ]

Name: Poison Hearts --early winter 2003 through late fall 2004
Featuring: A winter-like image I tweeked on photoshop

Explaination: This is my winter theme layout. I thought, it's winter, therefore I should have a layout that depicts what I think of when it's winter... and this layout is what it turned into. Over all I like it, it's a nice change, so yeah... I'm content with it.

The lyrics on the side are from the secret song on the latest AFI cd... if you want to know what it says exactly here are the lyrics: "There are no flowers, no not this time/ There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find/ I'd show a smile but I'm too weak/ I'd share for you, could I only speak, just how much this hurts me" ... and also I got the layout name from another AFI song.

[ Version Seven ]

Name: Lucky You --late Summer 2003 through fall 2002
Featuring: Art work from the Deftones latest album

Explaination: I was feeling very inspired by Deftones ever since I got their album, and thought their art work was AWESOME. I loved their roses... so I was like "MAN, I soooo want a layout like this" so I started scanning their rose pics and made all these odd things out of them. Then I started totally tweeking the images and came up with what it is now. I think it came out pretty cool, cuz it looks all electrifying.

The text (lyrics) on the layout are from the song "Lucky You" by Deftones of course. I chose to put lyrics from this song up cuz it's a more electronic song of their's and I thought it was a good representation of the song's style... anyways that whole album rules, you should buy it... they rock.

The Hardships: The side rollovers all the way... it was like my first time using Photoshop Image Ready, and I was having so much trouble doing the rollovers. Finally I got them to do what I want... this layout would have been up so much earlier if I could get them to work, lol... oh well.

[ Version Six ]

Name: Neutral --Spring 2003
Featuring: Kira (Mars)

Explaination: This layout was more of a suttle layout. I usually make really vibrant and bright layouts with high contrasting colors. So for this layout I just wanted something a little more toned down, and less extreme. Hence the name neutral. The thing I like about this layout was that out of most of my previous layouts... this is the one that I thought had the best arrangement. Everything came together well and I think it turned out great.

It actually took me a year to finish this layout because I had half of it done the previous year, and I was actually going to use it for a blog layout... but then started messing with it one day and it seemed more like a layout I would use for Cosmic Chaos.

[ Version Five ]

Name: Blood Red --Fall 2002 - Winter 2003
Featuring Alice Seno's Sister (Alice 19th)

Explaination: This layout was to attempt a dark theme for the upcoming winter. I think it was achieved well... and the color scheme was appropriate. I wanted it to look dramatic and bold at once, and it came out well. Hmm I guess that's all I can say about it.

The Hardships: I think the hardest thing I came across when making this layout was putting the whole composition together in a way where it could all tie in and create a theme.

[ Version Four ]

Name: Darkness and Daylight --summer 2002
Featuring: Zagato and Emeraude (MKR)

Explaination: Darkness and Daylight was an attempt at making a 'darker' layout. I chose Zagato because he is a 'dark' character. I'm not too happy about Emeraude, because I don't really care for her that much. She just so happened to be in the only colored picture I had of Zagato, lol. Anyways, I got the name for this layout "Darkness and Daylight" because, Zagato is the one representing the darkness, while Emeraude is the one representing the light. If you read the frist season of Magic Knight Rayearth you would probably get the hint of it. Well, somewhat since you know what happens to Emeraude...lol...

To make this layout look 'unique' or as unique as I could make it, I used various brushes (actually just two) to add more detail. Then I added the layout's name, thus the layout was born! Okay, I'm being lame now.

The Hardships: It sounded pretty easy making this layout right? Hahaha, well it wasn't that easy to put up. The layout itself is made out of 14 frames. Haha, yeah, I'm crazy, but now that I get how to do frames, it's not that hard to code them now. The hardest part of this layout was probably picking the *perfect* font colors, even though that might sound as the easiest. Then, I added the image links to navigate the page, and the javascript scroll bars (which were a pain). Many thanks to Rady for making those stupid images transparent. Gifs hate me for some reason. Anyways, once you put all that together, you got version 4 of Cosmic Chaos.
